Is this just kubectl exec?
It's the same capability - an interactive shell into a running container - but you click the pod instead of typing a kubectl exec command, and the terminal opens right beside the pod's logs, events and YAML.
Can I choose which container to exec into?
Yes. For multi-container pods you pick the target container, including sidecars, as long as it's running.
Do I need to authenticate again to open a shell?
No - Kubius reuses the kubeconfig and cloud auth it already connected with (including GKE, EKS and AKS exec plugins), so the terminal opens without a fresh login.
